Green Giant gets cancelled for controversial 'green lover' advertisements

The Green Giant is an iconic brand of canned and/or frozen food products, dating back over 120 years. However, it has recently landed itself into some hot water due to a controversial ad campaign called "The Green Lover Collection".

The ads first started running on ITV around 15th January, 2026. The ads usually consist of the Jolly Green Giant (the mascot of Green Giant) committing some outlandish crime, and utilising the Green Giant branded peas to get out of legal trouble. Several loyal consumers of Green Giant products have denounced these advertisements, with one stating "Ever since I was a kid, I loved that Jolly Green Giant, but after seeing the vile contents of the green lover campaign, I've given up on him."

One notably infamous advertisement shows the giant kidnapping a group of young children, then gulping a can of corn and blasting away while police sirens play in the background. There have even been a series of protests, dubbed "The Green Giant's Grumble" that has caught the attention of our staff.

"I condemn the actions of this green fiend," said one protestor, "This giant is nothing more than a criminal." "He's training the kids to fear vegetables!" told a second protestor to our reporter, "The kids will associate crime and anguish with peas and corn. It's vile, vile I tell you!"
